Biography

Originally from the English Lake District I found my passion for nature and landscapes at an early age. I have spent many years travelling and my home is now in the Lake Constance area in southern Germany. Living here since 2001 has brought back my earlier inspirations for photography and I now work full time in the art world.

My favourite locations are mostly in the African continent and naturally closer to home in the alpine regions and throughout Europe.

Africa helps us to return to nature, wild nature, difficult to reach places, animals, remoteness and unbelievable colours for those short moments at sunrise and sunset or during dramatic weather.

The Alpine regions of Europe are no longer remote to the extent of Africa, but harness other forms of beauty; the elegance of the small Apline flowers which bloom in the Alpine meadows and at the sides of the footpaths from April to August. Many of these tiny colourful flowers are overlooked by the mountain trekkers passing by.

Photography is an art of thousands of details, combinations of light, shade and colors. With landscape photography you are not in control; the elements and nature are in control. You need determination, alot of patience and to be in the right place at the right time

For me, being a photographer gives me the opportunity to show to you my artwork photographed with emotion and feeling, these were special moments for me. I hope I can pass on to you some of my emotions and feelings to enjoy here today or in your home or office.
